Senior Engineering Manager/Lead Architect - Search

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for developing the full complement of web-scale search infrastructure, including crawling, content processing, indexing, query serving, relevancy and advanced intent mapping. You will be responsible for leading and growing a high-performance engineering organization building innovative, highly scalable, and robust software in coordination with the Product Management organizations. Challenges will include:

• Direct a large team of engineers, ranging from junior to senior, providing vision, prioritization, and day-to-day oversight.
• Recruit and train top technical and managerial talent to grow and develop the team.
• Oversee budgets and hiring priorities for the team.
• Deliver highly-scalable and robust software systems in a fast-paced environment.
• Develop and extend team-wide engineering and project management practices.
• Coordinate efforts and work closely with other engineering teams, the network operations team, the product team, and other parts of the company.

• Self disciplined.

• B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science or related engineering discipline (PhDs welcome).
• 5+ years of experience in senior engineering management positions.
• Significant leadership experience in a fast-paced, large-scale, web application development organization.
• Demonstrated ability to manage several teams working on multiple separate projects with complex interdependencies.
• Demonstrated success in building and growing a highly productive engineering organization.
• Experience delivering software products from inception to deployment and beyond.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
• Significant experience in search as a technical contributor and/or engineering manager.
• Significant experience with large-scale distributed systems as a technical contributor and/or engineering manager.
• Experience delivering production systems based on advanced research.
• Experience with natural language processing will be preferred.
