Senior Engineer/Engineer - Software Development

Responsibilities
You will be responsible and accountable for analyzing business requirements and architect solutions for the requirements; developing business functionality and maintaining and enhance current applications in use. Challenges will include:

• Technical specifications based on agreed User requirements.
• Software systems implemented according to the accepted technical specifications.
• Consulting to Business from a technology level.

• Must be willing and able to learn new technologies quickly through self - learning.
• Excellent technical skills and a desire to learn.
• A good understanding of broad business processes and principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical and objective, with attention to detail.
• Passionate about programming and getting the job done.
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team.

• BE preferably computer science/electronics with 2-5 years of experience in the internet consumer product space.
• Linux platform; Proficiency with Apache, MySql (and / or) PostgreSQL, JBoss, Perl and PHP4.0 a must.
• Python and Ruby and understanding of SDLC processes will be an added advantage.
• Experience in implementing scalable, robust, maintainable software using Object Orientated principles.
• Exposure to Java IDEs such as Eclipse and/or Netbeans.
• Exposure to Unix (Linux/FreeBSD/Solaris) will be an added advantage.
