Devika Chawla

Music has always been a part of my life - I started learning music when I was really young, and performed on stage frequently, combining classical and popular styles. I released my first solo album 'Devika' in 2007 - the main track 'Kehnde Ne Naina' was licensed by Sony for their compilation "Teri Deewani" including other artists such as Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Kailash Kher, Rabbi Shergill and others. I also collaborated with Bohemia - the Punjabi Rapper for the tracks 'Ek Tera Pyar' and 'Dil' on his album 'Da Rap Star', released by Universal Music in April 2009. My second solo album, featuring the track 'Barkha Bahaar' was released by Saregama India Limited, in November 2009, and featured by Rhythmhouse Mumbai. The album was also subsequently released by Fire Records in Pakistan. Barkha Bahaar was recently included in Saregama's Sufi Compilation - 'Colours - Sufi Ke Anek Rang', featuring Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, A.R. Rehman and others.
